It seems that gluten, the protein that’s commonly found in many grains, is lurking in just about everything. But with more and more people being diagnosed with celiac disease and gluten intolerance, it’s important now more than ever to know exactly what you’re eating. Dr. Jen herself has a gluten sensitivity, and set out to formulate a tasty protein bar that had not a lick of gluten in it!
Protein is an essential component that keeps your body functioning well. We have chosen two beneficial sources of protein for our products—grass-fed whey protein and pea protein. Pea protein is rich in essential amino acids, well digested, and keeps you feeling satiated. Whey protein contains essential amino acids for muscle growth, helps strengthen your immune system, and gives you a great boost of energy. Our whey protein is grass-fed which is not only more environmentally-friendly but also packs more nutritional value than regular whey protein!
Fiber helps maintain and control blood sugar levels, cholesterol levels, and digestive health. A high-fiber diet lowers your risk of developing disease and helps you maintain a healthy weight. We ensure that our products are rich in fiber for the best possible nutritional benefits!
Because Dr. Jen believes in all-natural ingredients, our products contain only ingredients that are by definition, grown, harvested, or raised in an ecological manner with minimal processing. None of them are produced synthetically or artificially or contain synthetic or artificial ingredients. Best of all, every bar is made with love.
Genetically modified organisms, or GMOs for short, are foods that have been genetically engineered in a lab or otherwise. Many times, they’re laden with chemicals such as herbicides and pesticides, and can potentially lead to health effects. When searching for foods, always look out for the non-GMO label, and opt for organic and natural ingredients whenever possible. One of our priorities when creating the Ultimate Protein Bar was to create a non-GMO —we’re certain you’ll be happy with the result!
Sugar is found in so many foods, and what’s worse is that many food manufacturers disguise sugar as other ingredients. You’ll see it called corn syrup, dextrose, maltose, and other -ose words. Sometimes, artificial sweeteners can also creep into our foods, and some of those aren’t any better. Sugar can lead to a host of health issues, a few of which include diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and dementia.
Sugar alcohols are often used as sweeteners or sugar substitutes because they contain fewer calories than regular sugar. Unfortunately, sugar alcohols can cause bloating, gastrointestinal distress, and other digestive issues in the long-term. Our Ultimate Protein bars are sweet, nutritious treats that are free of sugar alcohols, so you can enjoy them worry-free!
